Robert Lucaciu

avatars-000432563667-9slxcp-t500x500Robert Lucaciu (born in 1988) is a musician, composer and teacher from Germany. His work in the european jazz and imoprovised music scene is captured on more than 20 recordings of eclectic music.

At the age of 7 he started to play the violoncello and never stopped since, but as he picked up a double bass 8 years later, he immediately fell in love with the sound and the ability to play improvised music.

In the following year Robert Lucaciu was accepted to the youth program of the conservatory of the City Leipzig Hochschule für Musik und Theater Felix Mendelssohn Bartoldy. He finished his studies in jazz double bass and classical double bass as well as composition.

As a popular sideman he toured on all continents in more than 30 countries. His original music is played by his bands PLOT and Nautilus. 2015 he released the remarkable solo album monaxia.

For more than 10 years Robert Lucaciu teaches at the music school Neue Musik Leipzig double bass, violoncello and improvising concepts. 2018 he was assigned at the conservatory Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover as a docent for jazz bass.
